Womens’ Hostel (I), Gangadhar Meher Univesrity was established in the year 1984. It has a sanctioned strength of 250. Students are admitted into the hostel purely on merit basis. The superintendent of the hostel is Dr. Sikata Panda (P.G Department of Political Science) & the Asst. Superintendent is Dr. Priti Pragyan Ray (P.G Department of Zoology). Apart from all basic amenities, the hostel also provide the boarders with facilities like an exhaustive library with a reading room , a fully equipped gymnasium and provision for regular newspapers & magazines. Constant monitoring is being made to maintain the quality of food and to ensure safe drinking water. There is also a functional kitchen within the hostel premises which provide timely lunch & dinner to the students. Around 17 staff are employed in the hostel to look after the well- being of the boarders.
