Centre for IKS - Activities

  • The Centre has organised a one-day workshop on IKS on 15.01.2025. The workshop was conducted by the Dr. Anuradha Choudry, Outreach Coordinator, IKS Division, Ministry of Education, India. The workshop was conducted on understanding the vision, mission of IKS division of Govt. of India. Dr. Choudry also advises to develop courses for creating awareness regarding in the western part of Odisha.

  • The School of Sanskrit has offered the "Indian Knowledge System" course under the umbrella of Centre of the IKS as the MDC (Multi-Disciplinary Course) for third semester of Undergraduate Students adhering to the NEP-2020.
  • Dr. Suneli Dei, Asst. Professor and Head of School of Sanskrit and member of Centre for Indian Knowledge System, G.M.University, Sambalpur organised a special lecture on Role of Sanskrit in NEP-2020 on 08.03.2025. Dr. Priyavrata Mishra was the speaker of this program who insisted that the NEP-2020 is for the better future of education system in India. Dr. Mishra analysed the role of Sanskrit as a subject of Indology to establish the NEP-2020 in the Indian society.

  • Dr. Sushree Sasmita Pati, Asst. Professor, School of Sanskrit and Co-ordinator, Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems, G.M.University was invited as Distinguished Speaker to deliver a talk on "Timeless Threads: Jagannath at Home and the World" being organized by Odisha Research Centre, Bhubaneswar on 9th & 10th February 2025, at S.S. Bhatnagar Hall, CSIR-IMMT, Acharya Vihar, Bhubaneswar. Dr. Pati had discussed about the evolving understanding of Jagannath studies during her talk.
  • Dr. Sushree Sasmita Pati, Asst. Professor, School of Sanskrit and Co-ordinator, Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems, G.M.University was invited by Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems in collaboration with Dept. of Political Science of Vasanta College for Women, Varanasi to deliver a lecture on "Ancient Indian Governance in Dharmashstra and its Relevance for Nation-Building" on 11.04.2025 at 11.00 a.m. Dr. Pati explained the history of ancient Indian Governance and its impact on modern legal systems. Dr. Pati has initiated the proposal of the MOU/Collaboration between the Centre of Indian Knowledge systems of G.M.University and Centre of Indian Knowledge systems of Vasanta College for Women, Varanasi which is under progress.
