Alumni Preamble

The Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) is privileged to have its own Alumni Association that was registered under the registration of Societies Act XXI of 1860 SBL NO 6051 - 41 of 2007-08. However, at the time of registration this glorious institution of higher education was an autonomous college. On 30th May 2015 the Gangadhar Meher Autonomous College was metamorphosed into a Unitary University. In resonance with this transformation of G. M. Autonomous College to Gangadhar Meher University, the alumni Association of the former now has been rechristened as Alumni Association of Gangadhar Meher University (AAGMU), Sambalpur. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Atanu Kumar Pati has given his consent to become the patron of the AAGMU. All members of the Alumni Association of the erstwhile Autonomous College have automatically migrated as members of the AAGMU.

This Alumni Association was created with a view to foster a sense of community feeling and to instill a sense of responsibility among its alumni and other stakeholders connected with the GMU. It aims at upholding the glorious past and prestige of its Alma matter through sincere efforts and dedication.
