About

 Dr. P. Muralidhar Sharma joined as Assistant Professor in the School of English, Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur in February, 2020. Prior to this, he was working as Assistant Professor at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar and Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar. His research spans unconventional areas like Literature and Performing Arts, Travel Narratives, Women's Studies and Indian Literature in Translation. A substantial body of his research offers hitherto unprecedented understanding of the literary cultures of late 19th and early 20th century India. His research papers have been published in journals of academic repute. He is the editor of the peer-reviewed Meher Journal of English Studies and member of the editorial boards of well-known research journals. He reviews articles for journals like South Asian Review, Critical Arts, English Forum, among others. He has been invited as a resource person to a number of conferences, seminars, faculty development programmes and workshops in prestigious universities and institutions across the country. He has presented his research work in a number of international and national conferences. 

     A passionate teacher and avid researcher, Dr. Sharma has been instrumental in shaping the literary sensibilities of students. He has mentored students for appearing various competetive examinations like UGC-NET, GATE, CUET, CPET, among others. As the Coordinator of the Literary and Cultural Committee of the university, he has palyed an indispensable role in streamlining the rich reserve of diversified student talent. Under his guidance, students actively organize various literary and cultural competitions in regular intervals. He has enabled students to represent the university and win accolades for their performances at the district, state and national levels. He firmly believes in the values of collaborative team work with students for achieving predefined goals. Additionally, Dr. Sharma is a trained Kathak dancer and an art lover.
